OCTA Research says new COVID-19 cases in Metro Manila ‘have accelerated’

MANILA, Philippines --- New COVID-19 cases in Metro Manila "have accelerated" as the region's virus reproduction number increased in the last week, the Octa Research said Tuesday. Octa Research fellow Guido David told INQUIRER.net that Metro Manila's reproduction number for June 8-14 is at 1.59, higher than the 1.27 recorded from June 1-7. David, in a Twitter post, also said: "New COVID-19 cases have accelerated with a reproduction number of 1.59 and numbers are likely to exceed initial forecasts."
