MANILA, Philippines --- Several areas in southern Luzon should brace for rain on Friday due to the low pressure area (LPA) and southwest monsoon or habagat, according to the state weather bureau. In a Thursday afternoon public forecast, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the LPA was last spotted 1,080 kilometers east of extreme northern Luzon. It also noted that a tropical depression, moving northward at 25 kilometers per hour, is likewise being observed outside the Philippine area of responsibility.
