PH shares shake off inflation shock following BSP pledge

The Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) closed higher on Friday after recovering from an early-session selloff that came in the wake of data showing inflation in October jumped to 7.7 percent. The PSEi rose 0.48 percent, or 29.42 points, to 6,185.53 while the broader All Shares index added 0.49 percent, or 15.87 points, to 3,s273.70. Index stocks clawed back losses toward the closing bell after falling below the 6,100 level. This was despite the latest annual inflation print of 7.7 percent in October.
