MANILA, Philippines --- The Department of Health (DOH) recorded an additional 626 infections of COVID-19 on Tuesday, with active cases slightly down to 17,263. The COVID-19 caseload is now 4,057,629 nationwide, with 3,975,239 recoveries and 65,127 deaths. These new infections are also slightly lower than the 1,147 average daily infections recorded from Dec. 12 to 18 and lower than the 1,082 cases recorded on Monday. Metro Manila continued to lead the list of regions with the most number of cases in the past two weeks with 5,615 cases, followed by Calabarzon with 2,395 and Central Luzon with 1,142.
