Jewelry shop owner gunned down in Cebu City

CEBU CITY, Cebu, Philippines --- A jewelry shop owner was gunned down by still unidentified men at the corner of Panganiban and Colon Streets in Barangay Pahina Central here at around 5 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 30. Joseph Canonigo, 58, and a resident of Barangay Mambaling, Cebu City, suffered gunshot wounds in his head and body. Staff Sergeant Kitz Daryl Palaa, the investigator on the case of the Carbon Police Station, said Canonigo was driving his motorcycle when two men on board another motorcycle drove by the victim and shot him several times.
