MANILA, Philippines -- The number of reported deaths following the magnitude 6.8 earthquake that struck Mindanao has climbed to eight, disaster response officials said on Sunday afternoon. As of 3 p.m., the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said they are still validating the casualties' cause of deaths. Thirteen individuals are also reported to have sustained injuries. The agency further said that power lines have been restored in quake-hit areas and all affected bridges have been made passable.
