COVID-19 active cases in PH top 40,000 as 4,661 more contract disease – DOH

MANILA, Philippines --- More than 40,000 people in the country are now sick due to COVID-19, based on the latest data in the Department of Health's (DOH) coronavirus tracker. It also showed that an additional 4,661 contracted the disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, pushing the nationwide tally to 3,823,084 since the pandemic hit the Philippines in 2020. According to the DOH, the country's 40,315 current active cases account for 1.07 percent of the total cases, and 3,721,825 patients, or 97.32 percent, have already recovered from the illness.
