PH logs 4,159 new COVID-19 cases; active tally at 33,722

MANILA, Philippines --- A total 4,159 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded by the Department of Health (DOH) on Sunday, bringing the active tally to 33,722. This also brought the DOH the country's total caseload to 3,776,627 nationwide, with 3,682,278 recoveries and 60,727 deaths, based on the DOH's COVID-19 Tracker on its website. These new cases were almost double the average daily cases of 2,791 recorded from July 18 to 24. Metro Manila with 14,107 cases also continued to be the region with the most infections in the last two weeks, followed by Calabarzon with 9,282 and by Central Luzon with 4,401.
