Bishop Emeritus Joseph Benedict Nacua, 77, dies

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan, Philippines --- Bishop Emeritus Joseph Benedict Amangi Nacua died at the age of 77 due to a "lingering illness" on Saturday, Sept. 10, five years after he resigned due to health reasons as Roman Catholic's Diocese of Ilagan bishop in Isabela, The Social Communication Ministry of the Archdiocese of Tuguegarao, which made the announcement, did not give details about his death. Details of the wake and interment will be announced later. Pope Francis formally accepted Nacua's resignation in February 2017.
