Coastal waters of Zambales, neighboring areas remain safe from red tide

SAN ANTONIO, Zambales--The coastal waters in this province and nearby Pampanga and Bataan remained free of the harmful red tide toxins, the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) said Monday, Nov. 21. In an advisory, the BFAR said the latest shellfish samples collected from these areas showed that all kinds of shellfish, alamang (shrimp fry), and other seafood in these areas are still safe for consumption as long as they are fresh and cleaned thoroughly.
