Adult joblessness in PH decreases to 19%

MANILA, Philippines --- Adult joblessness in the Philippines decreased to 19% in March this year from the 21.3% recorded in December 2022, the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey showed on Wednesday. According to SWS, 19 percent of the labor force, or 8.7 million adult Filipinos, were jobless as of March. This figure is 2.3 percentage points --- or 900,000 --- below the 21.3% --- or 9.6 million --- figure reported in December last year. The survey was conducted from March 26 to 29 using face-to-face interviews with 1,200 adults nationwide --- 300 each in Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
